Author Bill Viola Jr.

“Sensei” Bill Viola Jr. is a bestselling author, film producer, and creator of CommonSensei ® life skills book series and Sensei Says ® curriculum. He is Founder and President of Kumite Classic Entertainment based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Bill Viola Jr. is an author and  “Sensei” at Allegheny Shotokan Karate, the gold standard for martial arts in Western PA (50-year anniversary in 2019).  The Viola family-owned and operated dojo is lead by 3 generations who carry on a Pittsburgh karate legacy. Sensei Bill is a lifelong martial wayist.

At face value, CommonSensei is just that, a teacher of common sense, but its play on words is unique to my own “ZENspirational” brand of self-discovery. As a life coach, my mission is to mentor, motivate, and inspire the next generation of students through life skills I’ve coined the Martial SMARTS ™.  Bill Viola’s brand of innovative and inspiring content includes:  Sensei Says ®, CommonSensei ®, and Black Belt in Life ®.  My goal is to help you level up in all areas of your life:  finances, relationships, career, and health.  As an author he has developed a colored belt rank system to achieve progress towards self-mastery.  As you follow along the path towards enlightenment, CommonSensei is your game master in a contest that has no instruction manual.  As you play, there are no real winners or losers, just those who take control of their destiny.  Endgame is becoming, “A Black Belt in Life.”  Learn about Zentensity

Bill Viola Jr. is more than just  an author; he’s a serial entrepreneur.  Viola Jr. founded his own entertainment company in 1999 and has expanded into publishing and producing sectors.  The Kumite Classic, the companies self-titled event, is recognized internationally as the Mecca for martial arts in the Pittsburgh region, hosting some of the most dynamic expos and conventions in the United States .
